The Brighton Church of Christ is a spiritual family with a focus on going to heaven. We are determined to honor God, strictly follow the teaching of the New Testament, and effectively make that teaching available to the city of Brighton and the surrounding area.
What do we believe?
We are a people who believe in God, the Father, God, the Holy Spirit, and God, the Son (I Peter 1:2). We believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah (John 4:25, 26), that he died for the sins of the world (I John 2:2), and was resurrected from the dead (Romans 6:4). We believe that he is the head of his spiritual body (Colossians 1:18), the one church that is described in the New Testament.
We are deeply convicted that the Bible is God’s written Word. We believe it is God’s only written message to mankind and that the New Testament is our sole authority for what we are to believe and practice.
We are a people of restoration spirit. We are seeking to restore the attitudes and practices of the New Testament church in our world today, with no humanly-created creeds.
We do not desire to be another denomination - and are not a denomination. We simply wish to be Christians, members of the church Christ died for and established.
We are a people believing that Christ has all authority (Matthew 28:18). We believe he has set forth in the New Testament what his church is, what his church should teach, and how we are to live.
We are not a perfect people. We have personal weaknesses and shortcomings, but we strive each day to overcome our faults with the help of Jesus.
We are a people who desire to live according to the New Testament and help others learn the truth of the gospel and assist people to obey that same message (Mark 16:15,16). As Christians, we want to also help one another remain faithful to God and reach a home in heaven to live with Him for eternity.
